As an experienced writing teacher, I demystify the processes of identifying goals, researching markets and editors, writing salable queries, reporting stories, and editing your own work. Depending on your needs, I might serve as a sounding board, give constructive edits as a first reader on a draft, or advise on how to develop your business strategy as a freelancer. Whether you are relatively new to writing, an experienced staffer transitioning to freelancing full-time,  or looking to bring your career to the next level, I can help.

Why me? In addition to my journalism track record of writing articles for a wide variety of publications (niche/general interest/regional audience/international reach), I’m a qualified and experienced educator. I earned an MA in education from Columbia University; I have years of practical experience teaching writing to university students and working one-on-one with aspiring writers.
