There can be a real disconnect between what we’ve done in the past and what we want to do now and in the future.

Telling ourselves “I should have newer/better/more prestigious clips” doesn’t function as a motivator to pitch with fervor to refresh the portfolio. It’s more likely to evoke shame and avoidance.
