When you’re ready to get yourself a new assignment, do you factor in the prior investment you’ve already done to secure your existing clients? Or do you go out looking for a new client each time you need more work?
As freelancers, we say we want anchor clients or regular retainers. But often we get caught up in the thrill of landing a new client, without reflecting on the actual amount of time, money, energy, focus, etc., required to secure that new relationship.
